  • It is the world’s largest continent, 13 times larger than India.
  • It covers 9% of the Earth’s total surface area (or 30% of its land area), and has the longest coastline.
  • It is separated from Europe by the Ural Mountains, the Caspian Sea, the Black Sea, the Caucasus Mountains and the strait of Dardanelles and from Africa by the Red Sea and the isthmus of Suez while Bering strait separates it from North America.
  • The continent is home to the 10 highest peaks in the world.
