National
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has banned the sale, use and possession of unmanned aerial vehicles in Srinagar, a week after two Indian Air Force personnel were injured in a drone attack on the Air Force Station in Jammu.
Literacy, numeracy mission (NIPUN Bharat Mission) deadline pushed to 2027.
- Although the National Education Policy had included a 2025 deadline to achieve the goal, the Centre has pushed back the target date to 2026-27, given that COVID-19 has already disrupted two academic years.
- The vision of NIPUN Bharat Mission is to create an enabling environment to ensure universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy, so that every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27.
- Money is being allocated from the flagship Samagra Shiksha scheme.

Two-time MLA from Khatima in Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami was sworn in as the 11th Chief Minister of the State.
As many as 194 crocodiles have been relocated from a lake near the Statue of Unity in Narmada district, Gujarat.
- The Panchmuli lake, situated near the 182-metre tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kevadia, a major tourist attraction, had a large number of crocodiles that posed a threat to visitors.
International
Chinese astronauts successfully performed the country’s first tandem spacewalk on the outside of the new Tiangong station in orbit around the Earth.
- Tiangong’s construction is a major step in China’s ambitious space programme, which has seen the nation land a rover on Mars and send probes to the Moon.

- NIPUN भारत मिशन का दृष्टिकोण आधारभूत साक्षरता और संख्यात्मकता के सार्वभौमिक अधिग्रहण को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए एक सक्षम वातावरण बनाना है, ताकि प्रत्येक बच्चा 2026-27 तक ग्रेड 3 के अंत तक पढ़ने, लिखने और अंकगणित में वांछित सीखने की क्षमता प्राप्त कर सके।
- NIPUN भारत मिशन योजना के लिए फ्लैगशिप समग्र शिक्षा योजना से राशि आवंटित की जाएगी।

उत्तराखंड के खटीमा से दो बार के विधायक पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने राज्य के 11वें मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली।
गुजरात के नर्मदा जिले में स्टैच्यू ऑफ यूनिटी के पास पंचमुली झील से 194 मगरमच्छों को निकाला गया है। ये मगरमच्छ आगंतुकों(visitors) के लिए खतरा थे।

चीनी अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों ने पृथ्वी के चारों ओर कक्षा में नए तियांगोंग स्टेशन के बाहर देश का पहला अग्रानुक्रम स्पेसवॉक सफलतापूर्वक किया।
- तियांगोंग का निर्माण चीन के महत्वाकांक्षी अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम में एक बड़ा कदम है, जिसने राष्ट्र को मंगल ग्रह पर एक रोवर लैंड करते हुए और चंद्रमा पर जांच भेजते हुए देखा है।
