In a historic move, a separate ‘Ministry of Co-operation’ has been created by the Modi Government for realizing the vision of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’.
- This ministry will provide a separate administrative, legal and policy framework for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
- It will help deepen Co-operatives as a true people based movement reaching upto the grassroots.
- In our country, a Co-operative based economic development model is very relevant where each member works with a spirit of responsibility.
- The Ministry will work to streamline processes for ‘Ease of doing business’ for co-operatives and enable development of Multi-State Co-operatives (MSCS).
- Creation of a separate Ministry for Co-operation also fulfils the budget announcement made by the Finance Minister.
President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed New Governors for eight states :
- Thawarchand Gehlot has been appointed as the new Governor of Karnataka.
- Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel has been appointed as the new Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
- Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has been appointed as the new Governor of Mizoram.
- Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar hhas been appointed as the new Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
- Mizoram Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai has been appointed as the new Governor of Goa.
- Haryana Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya will now be the Governor of Tripura.
- Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais is the new Governor of Jharkhand in place of Draupadi Murmu.
- Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has been appointed as new Governor of Haryana.

- India’s first and only paint made from cow dung.
- Khadi Prakritik Paint was launched by Shri Gadkari on 12th January 2021.

The ministry of environment, forest and climate change approved the conversion of the Ramgarh Vishdhari Sanctuary in Rajasthan’s Bundi district into the fourth tiger reserve in the state.
- The other three tiger reserves are : Ranthambore Tiger Reserve in Sawai Madhopur, Sariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar, and Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in Kota — in the state.
- With the addition of Ramgarh Vishdhari, India now has 52 tiger reserves.
National Film Archive of India (NFAI) acquired the original camera negative of filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s popular satire PK .
- The significance of the acquisition of the negative of PK (2014) is that it is one of the last films to be shot on celluloid.
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar passed away at 98.
- Dilip Kumar made his Hindi film debut in 1944 with the movie ‘Jwar Bhata’.
- In a career spanning over six decades, Dilip Kumar gave multiple hits such as ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Naya Daur’, ‘Baabul’, ‘Deedar’, ‘Madhumati’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Ganga Jamuna’, ‘Ram Aur Shyam’, ‘Karma’ and others.
- Dilip Kumar’s portrayal in various doomed movies earned him the title of ‘tragedy king’.
- He was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan award in 1991 for his outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema.
- Kumar was bestowed with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
- The Government of Andhra Pradesh honoured Kumar with NTR National Award in 1997.
- The Government of Pakistan conferred Kumar with Nishan-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian award in Pakistan, in 1998.

- राजेंद्र विश्वनाथ अर्लेकर को हिमाचल प्रदेश का नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है।
- मिजोरम के राज्यपाल पी.एस. श्रीधरन पिल्लई को गोवा का नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है।
- हरियाणा के राज्यपाल सत्यदेव नारायण आर्य अब त्रिपुरा के राज्यपाल होंगे।
- द्रौपदी मुर्मू के स्थान पर त्रिपुरा के राज्यपाल रमेश बैस झारखंड के नए राज्यपाल हैं।
- हिमाचल प्रदेश के राज्यपाल बंडारू दत्तात्रेय को हरियाणा का नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है।

- खादी प्राकृत पेंट को श्री गडकरी द्वारा 12 जनवरी 2021 को लॉन्च किया गया था।
- पेंट को किसानों की आय बढ़ाने और देश भर में स्वरोजगार पैदा करने के दोहरे उद्देश्यों के साथ लॉन्च किया गया है।
- इस नवाचार से अधिक से अधिक लोगों को लाभान्वित करने में सक्षम बनाने के लिए, KVIC ने इस परियोजना को प्रधान मंत्री रोजगार सृजन कार्यक्रम (PMEGP) के तहत शामिल किया है, जो रोजगार सृजन के लिए केंद्र सरकार की एक प्रमुख योजना है।

- राज्य के अन्य तीन बाघ अभयारण्य हैं: सवाई माधोपुर में रणथंभौर टाइगर रिजर्व, अलवर में सरिस्का टाइगर रिजर्व और कोटा में मुकुंदरा हिल्स टाइगर रिजर्व।
- रामगढ़ विषधारी के जुड़ने से भारत में अब 52 टाइगर रिजर्व हो गए हैं।
नेशनल फिल्म आर्काइव ऑफ इंडिया (एनएफएआई) ने फिल्म निर्माता राजकुमार हिरानी के लोकप्रिय व्यंग्य पीके का मूल कैमरा नकारात्मक हासिल कर लिया।
- पीके (2014) के निगेटिव के अधिग्रहण का महत्व यह है कि यह सेल्युलाइड पर शूट की जाने वाली आखिरी फिल्मों में से एक है।
वयोवृद्ध अभिनेता दिलीप कुमार का 98 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया।
- दिलीप कुमार ने अपना हिंदी फिल्म डेब्यू 1944 में फिल्म ‘ज्वार भाटा’ से किया था।

- पाकिस्तान सरकार ने कुमार को 1998 में पाकिस्तान के सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कार निशान-ए-इम्तियाज से सम्मानित किया।
